The Apostle Paul calls us Jars of Clay (2 Corinthians 4:7). As followers of Jesus we must allow the Word of God to fill us with it's message of Truth and Grace. In this way, we become a "vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21).

 August 27, 2021

LESSON 34: FAITH

A. Definition of faith:

B. An example from my everyday life:

C. A positive example from the Bible: 2 Kings 5:8-14; Matt. 15:21-28; 21:18-22; Luke 7:1-10; Acts 3:1-10.

D. A negative example from the Bible: Matt. 6:25-34; 14:22-33; 17:14-20; Mark 6:1-6; James 1:5-8.

E. Thinking about faith in my own life:

1. When have I shown faith?

2. In what situation did I fail to show faith?

3. What problem in my life could God use to build faith?

4. Who can be a Christian model for me of faith?

5. How can I develop this quality in my life?

F. A scripture verse I will memorize to help build faith into my life: Ps. 40:4; 118:8; Matt. 21:22; 1 Cor. 2:5; Eph. 2:8; Heb. 11:1; James 1:6.

G. Self-evaluation:

1. Have I seen many of my prayers answered?

2. Do I pray because I believe God likes to answer prayers?

3. When prayers are not answered, am I usually discouraged?

4. Do I get excited about trusting God for all my needs?

5. Am I confident that God will meet all my financial needs?

6. Have I given sacrificially and seen God restore everything Iʼd given?

7. Does my life and testimony encourage faith in others?

8. Do trials increase my faith?

9. Do I have more faith in my ability than in Godʼs?

10. Do testimonies of other people increase my faith?

11. Is my faith weakened when others try to discourage me?

12. Do I have faith to obey when God shows me a need that I should meet?

13. Are my friends examples of faith-filled living?
